Hi there. Thanks for stopping by in my little corner of the internet. My name is Christina and I’m a 20 something-year-old girl living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Professionally I’m an IT Business Analyst with a degree in IT Management. My goal in life is to be able to travel indefinitely, take beautiful photos and drink great coffee while exploring new cities.
My love for travelling started when I was a kid and I would visit Greece every year or so. My parents are from Greece and I’m so lucky that I got to explore the country and its glorious beaches, amazing food and historic culture at such a young age. My addiction to exploring has not left me and I still enjoy visiting new places regardless of whether it is local or abroad. I’m a self-proclaimed ‘hidden-gems hunter’ and always on the hunt for new places to explore.
The idea for Live Your Zoi blog was born in order for me to showcase my photography and document my little adventures. I wanted to incorporate a little bit of my Greek heritage into my blog name. Zoi means life in Greek. Live Your Zoi directly translates to ‘Live your Life’.
Live Your Zoi blog endeavours to provide readers with unique and authentic travel guides and tips from my point of view. Readers can also choose articles based on various travel styles to suit their personality as everyone has an individual way of travelling. Personally, I love adventure travel but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. The aim is to get you (the soon-to-be adventurer) off the couch, switch off Netflix and explore the beautiful world we live in.
If you’d like to get in touch with me then send me an email at hello@liveyourzoi.com.
I have travelled to 15 countries in total. Namely, Greece, England, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Zambia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. I’m not including my home country (South Africa) because that wouldn’t be fair, would it? My goal is to travel to 30 countries before I’m 30 years old. It seems like an absurd goal but I’m sure as hell going to try my best to achieve it.
It’s really hard to choose a favourite because there’s something special in every country. When it comes to great food, beaches and culture then I would choose Greece (specifically Santorini) and Portugal. My favourite country for nature and adventure travel would be New Zealand, hands down. However, Zambia and Switzerland are also great destinations for nature and adventure travel. Other favourites include London for shopping and the Netherlands for just being so damn awesome and progressive.
I used to use my Canon 1200D for all my photos but recently that has been replaced by my new Sony Alpha A6300. I edit using Adobe Lightroom 5.
I always pack my camera (most important item to me), passport, credit card (forever cashless) and my sunnies.
I’m really lucky to have two passports. I have a South African and an EU passport which allows me to visit a vast amount of countries visa-free!
